Having a dog is a big responsibility and the reason is because they are pets needing much care, and if you do give them the best care you will be rewarded with many benefits. Finding the right companion however is a very individualized process. Every person is unique and has different needs and desire. This is also true for every dog breed you can find. There are many stories about the origin of this domesticated animal but its purposes have been utilized all over the world. Dogs can be used for working or helping man to do certain tasks and they can also be had as a companion or treated as a pet.
When dogs do their function, they act as either an ally or a companion in work, and the other is a social companion. Dogs can be relied upon as a companion and because of this they are said to enter with a relationship with their human where there is a give and take connection. And this bond with his dog, makes the master get a lot of benefits. Companionship with a dog carries it with a positional attitude and the owner benefits from being able to be in charge of his dog. When you are in charge, this means that you are also responsible for his care. When it is hungry, you feed it. You take your dog out when it ones to relieve itself. When your dog becomes restless, you exercise and play with him. When it is sick, you bring it to the vet. Owners gain their dogs trust, loyalty and devotion because of the care that they show. This is no wonder why many dog owners report attachments to their dogs that are as strong as their attachments to their best friends.
There is one area in having a dog companion which is somewhat neglected by many dog owners and that is the area of training their dogs. Dogs actually do not have cognitive abilities like humans have and they don’t think as we do but merely respond to the patterns that we show them and they are very sensitive to these cues. Simply put, you cannot teach dogs the way you teach a child, it just does not work that way.
The reason why you need to train them though offers several benefits. A dog’s life can be saved if he is trained. In order to have voice control over your dog, you should spend time working with them with commands. Your ability to get your dog back to you safety can mean its life. Bringing a dog trained in manners is a delight and there will be no occasion for embarrassment or injury. You will understand them better through training.

The service dog is one kind of dog which is specifically trained to help those with disabilities like hearing impairments, visual, seizures, autism, post traumatic stress disorders, mental illness and those with ambulatory issues. This may also alert the individuals who have seizure or those who are mentally ill so that they have their medication. The dog can also be responsible in helping the persons with PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder when they are under attack. The service animals are known as working dogs instead of pets. The dog must be trained to provide service to people with disabilities. They would provide comfort, emotional support and other duties.
The well-trained dogs are certainly expected to do the following in public. The dog should focus on the handler at all times unless it performs the task that is trained to do. The dog is expected no to be anxious and should not react aggressively. It must walk nicely without lunging, circling, forging or lagging. The dog should also ignore distractions and must be quite unless it is performing a task that it is trained to do. Moreover, the dog should look professional and should be well-groomed and must be taken care of.
You must know that the registered service dog can be your best friend and a constant companion. The service dog would get the classification from helping the owner that has physical problems or mental issues. Such classification is actually not just limited to the service dogs. You have to be aware that the service animals can be classified as having similar abilities as the service dog. This kind of dog should be able to help someone with disability.
